Is the Founder of Bitcoin … revealed?

10.12.2015

For the last few years a question of who is a real founder of the Bitcoin was repeatedly raised in mass-media and agitated the public. The prehistory of Bitcoin extends back around 7 years and involves a huge number of users worldwide. It is notable, that currently it is unknown who has indeed created Bitcoin and launched its mechanism in the world-web. The fact is that cryptocurrency platform has been launched autonomously. After the e-currency had appeared the information concerning the founder of this project was published in the Internet; the founder was introduced under the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto. However, the founder has never appeared on public and hasn’t made any official announcements. Such a conspiracy couldn’t be unnoticed.

Mass-media continuously offer various versions of the identity of the Bitcoin’s founder. Some think that Satoshi Nakamoto is a Japanese man and this is his true name, not a pseudonym. According to the other version, this person is originally from Russia or Latin America. Some are sure that this is not a person but a whole group of talented and masterful programmers proficient not only in programming but in economics as well. Anyway, the situation isn’t getting clearer. The fact remains: the founder of crypto-currency protocol is unknown till now. Also we don’t know for certain the purpose of creation and distribution of Bitcoin. A system of worldwide instant money transfers? An instrument for investments? A possibility to keep real currency in virtual way? It is open to speculation.

Most of foreign economic experts agree that Bitcoin-currency is an outstanding break-through in the modern financial system. There are several reasons. Bitcoin is a payment system, which:
1) offers an opportunity to keep funds in a virtual account in a personal cabinet (access to the cabinet is protected by a program code.)
2) allows processing money transfers in a short time, almost instantly;
3) does not charge commission fees for transactions – there is much to gain from it especially when you transfer large amounts;
4) allows paying goods and services worldwide providing that there is Internet access;
5) is decentralized because it is unaccountable and uncontrollable by any authorities, neither governmental authorities, banks nor other regulatory authorities. This fact, in its turn, allows us to assume that nobody can monitor money savings in a specific account;
6) is completely anonymous. As any Bitcoin transaction is nothing more than a program code, so it does not carry any information concerning a sender and a recipient ensuring absolute confidentiality to involved parties;
7) as of now, has an extensive network of payment terminals all over the world for cashing out virtual cryptocoins into any world currency.

Additionally, everybody remembers an impressive surge of Bitcoin rate in November 2015, when cryptocurrency reached 1,000 USD per one Bitcoin. At that time many platform users with significant amounts of e-coins in their accounts became enriched (especially those, who bought bitcoins soon after launching of the cryptocurrency, at a price of several dollars per 1 bitcoin.)

On December 8, 2015 the editorial staff of the magazine Wired published information concerning possible discovery of the real personality of the Bitcoin’s founder. They supposed that under the nickname Satoshi Nakamoto an Australian businessman and scientist Craig Steven Wright is hidden. American mass-media believe that this person is a forefather of the innovative payment system and a developer of the protocol for Bitcoin-currency. Journalists from Wired insist that recently they have received solid evidence that 44-year old businessman Wright is a true developer of Bitcoin. However, journalists haven’t announced the evidence. Though they do not reveal the details, the journalists insist that the mystery of Satoshi Nakamoto’s personality is almost solved. At the same time, Wired’s representatives note in their report that though plenty of evidence point at Craig Steven Wright, they cannot conclusively state that Mr. Wright is a true founder of the Bitcoin system. Moreover, they note that the most likely two versions are: either Wright has created Bitcoin or he is an ingenious crook interested in being considered as a founder of the cryptocurrency.

On December 9, 2015 the official Russian news agency TASS reported that Sidney police searched Craig Steven Wright’s house. It was not revealed why power officials got interested in Wright and what Wright was suspected of; however, there is strong evidence that it is related to the “Bitcoin case”.

Given that since launching of Bitcoin (in 2008) nobody has found a key to a mystery of its creation, the recent news of December 8 and 9, 2015 covered in American and Russian mass-media can be considered as a sensation that came as a bombshell. The best solution of the current situation is just to wait and follow the ongoing events. Probably, in the nearest future the whole world will find out who Satoshi Nakamoto is.
