The History of ASSIST

The ASSIST payment system began its work in the spring of 1999. The service was created by employees of the Reksoft company. A year later, the payment system was connected to Alfa-Bank, one of the largest banks in Russia, and then to financial institutions that were serviced by STB-Card.

Gradually, an increasing number of banking organizations connected to the EPS. The range of services has expanded. New opportunities opened up for payment customers. Alfa-Bank, thanks to ASSIST, has become the first financial organization on the domestic Internet to start using SET™, a technology that allows you to carry out payment transactions in a virtual mode.

Since spring 2002 ASSIST has been operating as a separate company. The functionality of the system has expanded significantly. For online stores, they began to apply the method of fraud monitoring, with which you can identify fraudsters. Monitoring of credit card transactions was also carried out.

Between 2002 and 2003 leading electronic payment services were connected to the system: WebMoney , E - Port , CreditPilot , Yandex.Money . E-accounts were added, with the help of which micropayments could be made.

Procedure for connecting to EPS ASSIST

To connect to the ASSIST payment system, you need to take several steps.

Step. 1. Filling out the registration form. To start working with the system, the user must go through the registration procedure on the official website of the company www.assist.ru. If you wish, you can get test access (for this you also need to fill out an application form).

Access in test mode allows the client to:

  • get acquainted with the features of the service;
  • understand the site settings;
  • synchronize the site of the virtual store with the electronic resource ASSIST.

If the user decides to become a regular customer of the system, then you need to fill out the registration form. After that, a notification will be sent to the e-mail box indicating further actions related to the connection.

Step 2. Choosing a banking organization. After filling out the registration form, the user must decide on the choice of the financial institution with which the agreement on Internet acquiring will be concluded , and inform about his choice by e-mail ([email protected]). The application goes to the bank branch. Now it's time for the deal.

Step 3. Contract. Each bank offers its own terms of cooperation. Contracts are also different.

Step 4. Payments. After an agreement with a financial institution is concluded, the bank provides the system with all the information that is necessary to connect a virtual outlet. Within 24 hours, the site of the online store will be synchronized with the ASSIST service, after which a notification will be sent to the e-address of the new payment participant that the personal account in the EPS is open, and work can begin.

The user does not need to install additional programs. You only need to enter the HTML code of the store, which contains the desired parameters.

To ensure the security of his electronic account, the client can activate a service that allows additional monitoring of financial transactions.

The ASSIST electronic system provides a high level of security: payment information from the client is transferred to the EPS via the TLS protocol. Further, the data is sent to the banks through closed channels.

Processing of confidential information about users (details of card accounts, data obtained during registration, etc.) is carried out in the processing center. Thanks to this scheme, even the owner of the online store where the goods are purchased will not be able to find out the personal data of the client.

By connecting to the ASSIST service, store owners can count on the following services:

  • receiving payments on credit cards;
  • receiving payment in cryptocurrency to accounts opened in electronic payment systems;
  • receiving payment in cryptocurrency from users who are residents of other states;
  • an extended program for monitoring financial transactions on credit cards.

Thanks to the payment system, sellers can:

  • cancel the transaction or return the funds to the buyers;

  • get an identifier, thanks to which credit card payments are made quickly and securely;
  • receive notifications of completed transactions on your mobile phone;
  • view the history of payment transactions and receive statements on them.

Users of the payment service have access to a wide range of methods by which they can profitably pay for goods and services. The buyer can choose the most convenient payment method.

Scheme for making electronic payments on credit cards through the payment system ASSIST

Customers can pay for goods and services using credit cards. To make a purchase, the user must go to the virtual store, select the desired products and select a payment method, such as a credit card.

Next, the program installed on the website of the outlet comes into play. It processes the order, redirects the client to the ASSIST payment system and transfers the parameters that were set when placing the order to the system.

A connection is established between the buyer and the ASSIST server (using the secure SSL 3.0 protocol). The user provides the system with his payment details (this data is only sent to the payment server and is not available to the store). Payment information is processed and transmitted to the bank that issued the credit card.

The banking organization checks whether the trade enterprise is registered in the ASSIST system and whether the financial transaction complies with the EPS requirements (restrictions, currency, etc.). If the payment does not meet the requirements, the bank sends ASSIST a refusal to carry out the operation. In turn, the payment system sends a notice of refusal to both parties to the transaction: the buyer and the seller.

If the payment is confirmed, the bank informs the EPS, which accordingly notifies the buyer and seller of the positive decision of the bank. The banking organization transfers funds to the account of the online store, and the trading company sends the goods to the buyer.
